The original bulkhead was 1/4 inch plywood and sound board. anything anchored to it with substantial weight, like the sea chest, would pull out the screws in short order without extra reinforcement from bracing to the hull floor. I removed the old bulkhead and made up a new one with 1/2 in marine plywood. I redid the fuel system and mounted the sea chest back in its original position.
